Isabel Crespín: Transforming Energy into Female Empowerment
April 25, 2025
Isabel Crespín's story goes beyond her professional career; it is an inspiring history of how determination, fueled by education, can ignite the spark of personal and economic empowerment in women.
The year 2018 marked Isabel's path, as it was in that year that she graduated as an Electrical Technician, an achievement that blossomed thanks to the opportunity that AES El Salvador, through its AES Mujer program, in collaboration with Instituto para el Desarrollo de la Mujer (ISDEMU)made available to her.

The experience acquired in this course awakened in Isabel a deep desire to expand her horizons. She embarked on continuing her training and becoming an electrical engineering technician. Her beginnings, as expected, were not easy. Navigating a work environment with a marked majority of men demanded admirable strength, an unwavering conviction in her abilities, and a professionalism that soon became apparent.
Eight years have passed since those initial challenges, and today Isabel skillfully works as an electrical technician at the company Aircon. In her daily work, she puts all her knowledge to the test, carrying out tasks ranging from preventive and corrective maintenance of air conditioning systems to the execution of complex electrical installations. In each task, Isabel applies her technical expertise while continuously reinforcing the confidence of having done quality work.

But the most significant aspect of Isabel's trajectory lies in the impact that her work has had on her life. Her dedication and effort have translated into economic development, allowing her to build a solid foundation for her future and her environment. Her story becomes a powerful message of hope and a example of how training and access to opportunities in technical areas can be catalysts for individual and social progress.
Isabel Crespín not only works with electricity; she radiates an energy that inspires. Her journey, from initial courses to her consolidation as a technician at Aircon, is a demonstration that gender barriers in the workplace can be overcome if there are opportunities for training, accompanied, in turn, by tenacity and self-confidence.
Isabel's story illuminates the path for many other Salvadoran women who aspire to leave their mark in the world of electricity or in any other field that, even today, continues to be dominated by men.
