AES holds 7th Arboriculture Seminar to promote urban forest planning
October 3, 2024
AES El Salvador held the Seventh Arboriculture Seminar entitled: “The Challenges of Urban Tree Planting”, making the advantages of planting the right tree in the right place known and reflecting together with the participants on the importance of urban forest planning.
The seminar featured the participation of prominent international speaker Edgar Ojeda, a forest restoration engineer who emphasized the need to integrate arboriculture into urban planning to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and mitigate the effects of climate change.
“Trees not only beautify our cities, but also play a crucial role in regulating temperature, improving air quality and conserving biodiversity,” said Ojeda during his speech.
Virginia Trujillo, AES El Salvador’s Director of Communications and External Relations, highlighted that the economic development of cities and environmental conservation are inseparable aspects to ensure social welfare. “Continuing to promote the development of sustainable cities through urban planning with a comprehensive vision is a fundamental part of our long-term strategy”, Trujillo said.
With events like this one, AES continues its mission to promote a culture of respect and care for the environment, ensuring a greener and healthier future for generations to come.
AES El Salvador: eight years promoting sustainable urban development
Through its sustainable impact program “AES Environment”, the company conducts seminars on arboriculture to promote the culture of proper selection, care, and conservation of trees in cities.
With the development of these events, AES has convened more than 500 representatives of public and private entities, professors and students linked to the sector, creating spaces for dialogue and discussion, in the search to build increasingly sustainable cities, providing, in turn, current knowledge in techniques and tools that help to promote the harmonious coexistence between trees and urban infrastructure in the country.
