800 meters of primary line were intervened, benefiting 400 clients, mainly public institutions, and avoiding electrical interruptions that could affect the final users of the public services they provide.
AES CLESA carries out sustainable pruning work in Santa Ana
November 13, 2025
AES CLESA, an AES El Salvador company, carried out a sustainable pruning day this Sunday on out-of-standard vegetation in Santa Ana. The intervention was carried out in coordination with various local institutions, with the aim of reducing electrical risks and guaranteeing safer spaces for the community, without affecting the natural balance of the environment.
During the session, 10 trees that posed a risk to the electrical infrastructure, pedestrians, and motorists passing through the area were intervened. The work was carried out applying arboriculture techniques, which allow for the responsible and sustainable maintenance of tree vegetation, prioritizing the health of the trees and road safety.
The activity had the support of Municipal Civil Protection, the 2nd Infantry Brigade of the FAES, the Municipal Agents Corps (CAM), the Santa Ana Fire Department, the Municipal Clinic and its ambulance service, the Ornament Area and the Solid Waste Unit of the Municipal Mayor's Office, as well as the National Civil Police (PNC).
Furthermore, the AES CLESA technical team took advantage of the presence of these institutions to carry out critical pruning and electrical maintenance work in spaces that house essential services for the people of Santa Ana, such as the Emergency and Hospitalization Area of the ISSS, the Regional Directorate of MINED, the Early Childhood Care Center (CAPI), and the National Institute of Santa Ana (INSA).
"Our approach is not limited to cutting branches or trees. It is an integral effort that combines road safety, the continuity of the electric service, and respect for the environment. We apply arboriculture techniques that seek to preserve the life of the trees while protecting people and infrastructure," highlighted Jose Lito Rodríguez, Western Region Manager of AES El Salvador.
This session marked the first articulated collaboration between AES CLESA and Santa Ana's first-response institutions, strengthening inter-institutional coordination against electrical and environmental risks.
As part of its strategic maintenance and pruning plan, AES CLESA announced that on November 19, they will carry out an evaluation walk. This will take place in the area between the Ministry of Finance and the El Sauce traffic circle (on the exit towards Metapán), as well as in the vicinity of the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Santa Ana. The objective is to identify new intervention points to coordinate a future work session.
With these actions, AES CLESA reaffirms its commitment to providing safe and continuous energy, prioritizing the safety of communities and the preservation of the environment.
