The distribution company replaced 8.8 kilometers of bare conductor with tree wire (semi-insulated cable) as part of an initiative aimed at improving network operating conditions in the Financial District and other sectors of the Metropolitan Area.
The electrical grid supplying the capital's Financial District and other areas of its Metropolitan Area underwent an intervention to reinforce its infrastructure and enhance operational conditions.
AES CAESS replaced 8.8 kilometers of bare conductor with tree wire, a project that will benefit more than 70,000 users.
The work was carried out in an area characterized by a high concentration of electricity demand, where distribution infrastructure is subject to greater operational requirements. Upgrading the conductors aims to reduce equipment exposure to conditions that can generate high currents, contributing to a more stable network operation.
The use of tree wire also provides infrastructure with greater protection against external factors that can affect the operation of distribution networks, particularly in high-density urban sectors.
This project is part of the modernization and maintenance efforts that AES CAESS performs on San Salvador’s electrical grid. These works are designed to both ensure service continuity and protect the equipment involved in the energy distribution process.
In addition to the direct impact on users connected to the affected circuits, strengthening the grid seeks to improve response capacity to meet the demands of an area where commercial, financial, residential, and service activities converge.
